The public has taken to social media platforms such as Twitter to condemn United Airlines and create their own submissions for replacing the airlines &#8220;fly the friendly skies&#8221; advertising tag.<\/p>\n<p>The hashtag #UnitedForcesPassengerOffPlane was the top trending item on Sina Weibo, which is considered the Chinese equivalent of Twitter &#8211; with over 270 million views.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what we&#8217;ve seen.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HV28_ENzFog?rel=0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>and these<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"wp-image-1425 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.socialstatus.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/United-Airlines.png\" alt=\"United Airlines\" width=\"710\" height=\"461\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But investors were not laughing.<\/p>\n<p>United Continental Holdings has seen some $255 million cut from its capitalisation which stands now at around $22.246 \u00a0billion, from 22.501 billion at the close on Monday, according to FactSet data.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"wp-image-1428 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.socialstatus.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screen-Shot-2017-04-12-at-4.18.09-pm.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2017-04-12 at 4.18.09 pm\" width=\"618\" height=\"237\" \/><\/p>\n<p>What has this meant for their own social following?<\/p>\n<p>Their Engagement went through the roof on Tuesday 11th, due primarily to the page posting CEO, Oscar Munoz&#8217;s, response to the incident.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"wp-image-1430 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.socialstatus.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screen-Shot-2017-04-12-at-4.30.32-pm.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2017-04-12 at 4.30.32 pm\" width=\"738\" height=\"214\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The post garnered 123.5K interactions and a whopping 11.86% Engagement Rate &#8211;\u00a0but it certainly was not all good.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"wp-image-1438 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.socialstatus.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/United-Airlines-Post.jpg\" alt=\"United Airlines Post\" width=\"636\" height=\"367\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img class=\"wp-image-1433 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.socialstatus.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/United-Airlines-Comments.png\" alt=\"United Airlines Comments\" width=\"685\" height=\"242\" \/><\/p>\n<p>What was perhaps most surprising, was United Airline&#8217;s absence from communicating with their customers.
